The Jackson County Genealogical Society (JCGS)

Saturday, 5 December 2009 – 10:00 a.m.
The Jackson County Genealogical Society (JCGS) will feature Mr. John Dillingham at its meeting on Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 AM. Mr. Dillingham, a
member and past president of the Native Sons and Daughters of Greater Kansas City, was awarded the 2009 Outstanding Kansas Citian Award
recently by the Native Sons organization. Mr. Dillingham’s presentation sponsored by JCGS will be Freedom’s Frontier: A National
Heritage Area (consisting of the 41 area counties in Missouri and Kansas). Guests are welcome.

Fall Classic Concert will be held October 17th

 Conductor Russell E. Berlin announces the first concert of the Lee’s Summit Symphony Orchestra’s 2009-10 season will be on Saturday evening, October 17, at the Bernard C. Campbell Performing Arts Center on the campus of Lee’s Summit High School, at Highway 50 and 291-N.

    Stephen J. Welling has entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy.  The six-week, two-phased orientation program must be successfully completed by the cadets prior to entering their freshman year.  The training prepares men and women to meet the rigorous mental and physical challenges experienced by new cadets.
