2014 Lee’s Summit Art & Artifacts Fair

April 19, 2014

Tell your story… with your Arts & Artifacts!  In an effort to identify cultural resources and encourage public education as it relates to historic preservation, the City of Lee’s Summit Historic Preservation Commission (HPC), in partnership with the Lee’s Summit Historical Society, will hold, for the first time, an “Art and Artifacts Fair” on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 1 to 4 P.M. in the Lobby of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit, in observance of May Preservation Month.

Citizens are encouraged to submit historic items for display and contest under these three categories:  historic photographs, older telephone directories from Lee’s Summit and hand tools.  The deadline for submitting historic items for the contest is May 2.

Contest winners will be judged on historic significance and accompanying local history. The Art and Artifacts Fair is a free event and the public is encouraged to participate!  We want to hear your story, your history!

More detailed information about this event and other May Preservation Month activities and how to participate is available on the HPC website at http://lshpc.org, by email hpc@cityofls.net  or by calling Ron Seyl at (816) 969-1603, Heping Zhan at (816) 969-1609 or (816) 969-1600.
