35th Annual Missouri Town 1855 Fall Festival of Arts, Crafts and Music

35th Annual Missouri Town 1855 Fall Festival of Arts, Crafts and Music

September 25, 2010

October 2nd, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 3rd, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Bring the entire family to Jackson County Parks & Recreation’s Missouri Town 1855 Fall Festival of Arts, Crafts and Music and enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment of this historic antebellum setting.  The smell of wood fires and hot apple cider will build up an appetite for some old-fashioned vittles. See the Master Blacksmith working at his forge or kick up your heels to authentic music.

A variety of activities will allow you to journey back to the 1850s including “Women of the Westward Expansion,” interpreting the vital role women played in the Oregon , California , and Santa Fe trails.  Live oxen, music and period appropriate wagons will bring the pleasures and hardships of the trail to life. Also featured will be a quilt display, lost arts demonstrations, fine arts displays and crafters featuring many homemade wares.  Children can even create their own unique craft project as well as participate in traditional activities such as tug of war, stilts, sack races and the game of graces.

Come and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells from the past at Missouri Town 1855’s Fall Festival of Arts, Crafts and Music.  The Missouri Town 1855 Fall Festival is proud to have the Friends of Missouri Town as a primary sponsor. Missouri Town 1855 is located on 8010 East Park Road, the eastern side of Lake Jacomo in Fleming Park .For more information visit www.jacksongov.org/content/3279/5215/5230/5541.aspx
