A Blue Springs man pleaded guilty today to molesting three girls.

June 11, 2012

Richard G. Burroughs, 44, has pleaded guilty to three counts of child molestation 1st Degree in an agreement announced today by Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Burroughs, who appeared in Jackson County Court this morning, has agreed to a sentence of 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. He will go to the correction department’s Sex Offender Assessment Unit, where he will be evaluated. A formal sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 27 at 9 a.m. in Division 2.

Burroughs, according to court documents, molested three girls, ages 11 to 13. Two of the incidents occurred at his Blue Springs home, while the third occurred at a girl’s home. Burroughs was their soccer coach.
