The Jackson County Election Board is pleased to announce the opening of a new off-site absentee polling location to better serve the voters of Jackson County during the 2012 election year.
In anticipation of increased voter interest in this important election year, the JCEB Board feels strongly that having a facility dedicated to assisting the county’s absentee voters is critical and believes that having the off-site location will benefit Jackson County voters with a more efficient and expedient voting experience.
“Voting is the bedrock of our democratic form of government and the Jackson County Election Board is constantly working to provide the most effective and efficient administration of our county’s elections,” said Tammy Brown and Bob Nichols, JCEB Directors.
“We see the potential for an increased number of ballot issues this year as well as the possibility for increased voter turnout and we are planning accordingly. We believe that this new location will better serve the voters.”
The new absentee location is located at 208 N. Liberty St. in Independence, across the street from the current Jackson County Election Board offices.
The absentee office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday hours will vary depending on the election and can be found by visiting our website at www.jcebmo.org or calling our offices at 816-325-4600.
