All Three Lee's Summit High School Robotics Teams Qualify for National Championship
For the second consecutive year, the FIRST Robotics teams from each of the three Lee's Summit R-7 high schools qualified for the World FIRST Robotics Championship. The Championship event was held April 15 through 17, 2010 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The Lee's Summit R-7 School District is the only district in the world with three or more FIRST robotics teams to qualify 100 percent of their teams on merit for the World Championship Event. This is the second year in a row that this school district has earned this difficult and rare distinction.
FIRST stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology." It is a competition to inspire high school students to become the science and technology heroes of tomorrow.
