Attempted ATM Robbery At Hy-Vee Gas Station

January 4, 2014

On Thursday, December 26, 2013 at approximately 3:00 a.m. officers from the Lee’s Summit Police Department responded to a business alarm at the Hy-Vee Gas station located in the 1200 block of SW 3rd officers arrived, the suspects had fled from the area.

A check of the business revealed that the two thieves had attempted to steal the ATM machine from the business near the front doors.

It appeared that the thieves had attached a chain to the machine and attempted to pull it from the business using a vehicle but were unsuccessful. Investigation into the incident continues at this time.
