Bank of Lee’s Summit, 1101 SW 3rd St, Lee’s Summit, MO Robbed

The police department responded to 1101 SW 3rd Street, Bank of Lee’s Summit, at 10:45am today on the report of an armed-robbery.
The reporting business was able to provide a description of the suspect which was radioed to responding patrol units. The suspect was described as an unknown male wearing a surgical mask, clothed in a black hooded sweatshirt with “Police” in white -lettering on the back. The suspect brandished a silver handgun and demanded money. He left the bank on a bicycle and officers located the abandoned bike in the 1400 block of SW 3rd Street.
An area resident reported seeing the male suspect exit a silver BMW during the timeframe of the robbery. The BMW was driven by a Hispanic male. The resident identified the suspect based on his clothing description. The whereabouts of the suspect and the driver are unknown at this time.
No injuries were reported from the incident. The investigation is ongoing and will be handled jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Lee’s Summit Police Department. Lee's Summit Police Tips Hotline: (816) 969-1752
