Bob Gough Files for State Representative in District 48
February 23, 2010 Bob Gough Files for State Representative in District 48
Bob Gough of Lee’s Summit filed for State Representative of District 48, a District currently held by Representative Will Kraus. Kraus has announced that he will run for Missouri State Senate District 8, leaving the 48th District an open seat in November 2010. The 48th District includes western Lee’s Summit, southern Raytown and part of Kansas City.
Gough is founder and Executive Director of the Jackson County Taxpayers Association. He has opposed tax increases and has asked candidates for public office to sign the Associations’ "No New Tax” pledges.
Gough said “Voters have been taxed enough. If elected, I plan to continue with the conservative fiscal policies of Representative Kraus and protect the savings and paychecks of hard working Missourians. I want to encourage new businesses to locate in Missouri and will work hard to ensure we pass State policies that attract jobs".
Gough is a US Army veteran and has roots in Missouri. He attended elementary school in Butler and has been an active advocate for the taxpayers of Jackson County for over 10 years. He has a BA in mathematics and is a former high school math teacher.
Gough lives in Lee’s Summit with his wife Helen. His children and grandchildren live in Kansas City and Blue Springs. His campaign web site is BobGough.com.
