The countdown has begun for Season 4 of Lee's Summit's Got Talent, Kansas City’s Premier Talent Show—a powerful annual competition that features a wide array of performers, from singers and dancers, to musicians and novelty acts, all vying for the coveted $5,000 cash prize.
"We are searching for extraordinary performers from across the greater Kansas City metro," said Roby Little, Executive Director of Lee’s Summit CARES, the nonprofit that produces Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent. "Our program has a variety show format that embraces the talent of singers, dancers, magicians, jugglers, comedians, animal acts and every category in between. Last year over 65 acts auditioned for the chance of moving on to the finale. Twenty acts are selected to perform in the show in June and compete for the cash prize."
Lee's Summit's Got Talent auditions are open to contestants of all ages and all types of talent. Potential contestants must be residents of the Greater Kansas City area.
Potential contestants can download an entry form and obtain audition information at the show website: www.lstalent.com. Audition forms are due by April 16. The audition fee for Lee's Summit's Got Talent is $35.
Performance auditions are scheduled before a panel of judges on April 24th at MCC-Longview Cultural Arts Center, 500 SW Longview Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64082. Acts will be judged based on these categories: level of ability, execution of act, stage presence, costume, and overall impression/"wow factor". Based on this scoring "Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent!" producers will then select the top 20 acts to compete in the final show. All applicants who audition may not necessarily move on to the finale. Acts moving on to the June 20 show will be posted on the website: www.lstalent.com. The winner of Lee's Summit's Got Talent is awarded a $5,000 cash prize. The winner is determined by panel of celebrity judges. A "Crowd Pleaser" award is given to the act determined to be the most entertaining by the show producers. Celebrity judges for Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent include Las Vegas performer Matt Lewis; Kristen Merrell, singer, dancer and award winning choreographer; and Brent Barr, Director of General Services, Worlds of Fun.
