Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street and Street Found Entertainment present a unique theatre experience on the streets of Downtown Lee’s Summit called “Cellular Cenes,” with two performances on Friday, April 25. The audience literally follows the story of two young people and their quirky budding relationship.
Each scene is set at a different Downtown Lee’s Summit location, and for this particular show it’s important for the audience members to leave their cell phones on! Curious as to how it works? Make plans to attend one of the two performances to find out.
Performances are at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, beginning at Red Door Wine Store, 229A S.E. Main St., Lee’s Summit. Audience members will need to bring their cell phones and wear comfortable shoes, as walking is involved.
“Cellular Cenes” was written by Ben Martin of Lee’s Summit. Martin also directs the show. In its third year, “Cellular Cenes” has been a huge hit and sells out quickly each year.
Additionally, April 25 is Fourth Friday in Downtown Lee’s Summit, featuring artist receptions, new artwork, music and Drink & Draw for artists to draw from a live model. Fourth Fridays are from 5 to 8 p.m. (some locations are open later), and they are free and open to the public. Fourth Friday maps are posted at www.facebook.com/fourthfridayLS. Fourth Fridays are sponsored by Great Southern Bank and the Lee’s Summit Arts Council.
There are a limited number of tickets available for the April 25 “Cellular Cenes” performances. Tickets are $10, and must be purchased in advance at http://cellcenes.eventbrite.com. Follow us on Facebook for more information regarding this event https://www.facebook.com/events/504680942970427/
