Christian School ACT Scores Well-Above State Averages
Sept 22, 2012
Ninety-eight percent of seniors at Summit Christian Academy took the ACT test in preparation for college - that is 51 of the 52 graduates from the class of 2012.
With a composite score of 24.4, SCA ranks as one of the top private schools in the Kansas City area.
SCA students scored highest in English and reading with scores of 25.3 and 24.6. Mathematics and science were close behind with scores of 24.4 and 22.7.
SCA’s 24.4 composite score is nearly three points higher than the state composite of 21.6.
“I’m excited, but not surprised, to see our students scoring high on the ACT,” said Secondary Principal Emir Ruiz-Esparza.
“I’m also pleased with the trend of nearly 100% of our students taking the ACT.”
“Our scores are higher than other schools in our area and very competitive with metro area private schools,” added Academic Dean Kimberlee Gill.
“Not only do our students have the opportunity to achieve excellence in their spiritual walk, but the college-preparatory curriculum we offer prepares them for the world of academia as well.
This composite score includes students who take our college credit courses, as well as those who are part of our resource services program.”
