City Crews Preparing for Weekend Snowfall

January 3, 2014

With the streets plowed and treated from the New Year’s Day winter weather, the City’s snow removal crews are preparing for more winter weather this weekend.

According to the weather forecast, there is a chance for snow Saturday afternoon, Jan. 4. The bulk of the snow is expected overnight into Sunday morning, Jan. 5.

The City’s crews will report to work at noon on Saturday to begin working around the clock plowing and treating streets. The Snow Desk, available at (816) 969-1870, will open at noon as well.

A lot can happen with the weather between now and Saturday. That’s why the City will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary adjustments to snow operations.

To learn more about the City’s snow removal program, visit LSpw.net select “Snow and Ice Removal” or stay up- to-date on Nixle, Facebook and Twitter. Visit LSfire.net for Weather Safety Information. Residents are also encouraged to stay up-to-date on weather information by listening to local newscasts.
