City Crews to Pre-treat Streets Early Friday Morning
December 19, 2013
With freezing rain forecast for early Friday morning (Dec. 20) in the metropolitan area, the City of Lee’s Summit’s snow removal crews have pre-treated traditional “hot spots” on roads and will begin pre-treating streets starting at 3 a.m. on Friday.
According to the weather forecast, drizzle will begin this evening and a cold front will move through tonight bringing colder air into the area. Any remaining light precipitation may become freezing drizzle or light freezing rain during the overnight and early morning hours Friday.
As a precaution, residents are asked to be careful walking and driving on pavement.
The City’s snow removal crews will continue to monitor the weather and update their response as needed.
The City’s Snow Desk, available at (816) 969-1870, will open at 3 a.m. on Friday. To learn more about the City’s snow removal program, visit LSpw.net select “Snow and Ice Removal” or stay up- to-date on Nixle, Facebook and Twitter.
