50th Anniversary Celebration

John and Sherry Swearngin

John and Sherry Swearngin will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary
with an open house at First Christian Church, 200 S. Limit, Sedalia, MO.,
from 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September. 30, 2012.

John Swearngin and Sherry Decker were married by Rev. Merle McConnell on September 29, 1962, at Lee's Summit Christian Church in an evening wedding.  They then headed to Kingsville, Texas where John was stationed with the U.S. Navy.   

They returned to Lee's Summit in 1965 and lived there until their retirement when they moved to Sedalia, MO. six years ago.  John owned John's Barber Shop in Lee's Summit. Sherry worked at Bank of Lee's Summit for 19 years.  They have 2 children, Nick Swearngin of Lee's Summit and Tammy Martin of Sedalia, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend.
