Bayside Diner Now Serving Breakfast On Weekends

August 9, 2014

The American Garage, a well-known bar and grill located at 4th Main St. in Downtown Lee’s Summit next to the Dairy Queen, is excited to announce the newly opened Bay Side Diner, serving breakfast Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Located inside the American Garage, the Bay Side Diner will serve simple but good breakfast meals. The diner will complement the American Garage, which now serves lunch and dinner, by feeding customers while the Garage is closed.

“I was frustrated with standing in line for breakfast at the local businesses, so I decided to open up my own,” Bayside Diner co-owner Charlie Arnone said.

Arnone got the idea to start serving breakfast last month around July 28th, and after discussing the idea with co-owner Russ DiMaggio, the Diner was built and serving breakfast by August 2nd. Taking out the pool table and setting up a few more tables and chairs, the cook put together a breakfast menu and the Bay Side Dinner was ready for business.

Future plans for the Bayside Diner are to open every morning and to serve breakfast starting at 1:30 a.m.
“We need to accommodate our customers and that’s why we decided to open for breakfast at 1:30 a.m.” Arnone explained.

Along with serving breakfast at the Bayside Diner, the establishment has Main Street Automotive which was established in 1992, the American Garage  bar and grill which is running for almost two years and a lawn mower repair shop.

"A simple idea to better serve the community of Lee’s Summit." Arnone and DiMaggio said.
