Character Patrol: Dekarri Williams
March 2, 2013
By Jessica Root Intern Reporter for the Tribune intern@lstribune.net
Tiffany Winn lives on a dead end street in Lee’s Summit. Their driveway is very long and especially hard to shovel with over a foot of snow on the ground.
During the recent snowstorms, Dekarri Williams, a neighbor of the Winn’s and an LSHS student, offered to shovel her driveway.
“We didn’t have any cash, and I told him that,” Winn said. “However, he said, ‘What if I said it was on this house?’ and started shoveling.”
Winn offered him a few gift cards that she hadn’t used, but Williams would not accept them.
“It was cold and shoveling our driveway takes forever,” Winn said. “It’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for my mom and I. My dad passed away last May and to get an act of kindness like this means the world.”
This week’s Character Patrol was brought to you by Tiffany Winn.
Be inspired to notice the random acts of kindness that are part of every day.
