Christian Character Award Winners

January 26, 2013

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) selected eight students to receive the school’s Christian Character Award for the first semester.  Four elementary students, two junior high students, and two high school students were chosen.

The Christian character award is given to encourage students to pursue the highest level of personal and academic development.  Students are chosen based on their ability to act as positive role models for classmates, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and respect with spiritual attitudes.  SCA is happy to recognize elementary students quarterly and secondary students each semester as they consistently demonstrate exceptional Christian attributes.

First grade student Samuel Mpinga, son of Peter Mpinga & Janet Serwanga of Kansas City, second grade student Katie Coats, daughter of Andy & Sarah Coats of Lee’s Summit, fourth grade student Haydn Godshall, son of Wade & Holly Godshall of Lee’s Summit, and fifth grade student Paige Weiskirch, daughter of Rob & Amy Weiskirch of Buckner were selected from elementary students.

Seventh grade student Kamara Henryhand, daughter of Carla Mitchell of Kansas City and Shaun Henryhand of Grain Valley, eighth grade student Logan Perue, son of Robert & Jennifer Perue of Lee’s Summit, tenth grade student Aaron Banks, son of Rick & Cynthia Banks of Lee’s Summit, and senior Sarah Lambert, daughter of John & Terri Lambert of Belton, were selected from secondary students.

These students were carefully chosen by the SCA faculty and presented with a $50 U.S. Savings Bond and Christian Character Certificate during a weekly chapel service.
