Kids benefit from Tae Kwon Do & Martial Arts now offered through LS Parks & Recreation

Kids benefit from Tae Kwon Do & Martial Arts now offered through LS Parks & Recreation

Martial Arts and Tae Kwon Do can help kids increase self esteem, learn life skills like goal setting and garner attributes like self control. Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is currently taking registrations in programs designed for kids ages 3 through 17. Intro to Martial Arts I for three and four year olds uses the award winning Future Kidz curriculum which teaches age appropriate agility skills and games that teach respect, concentration, and self-esteem. First time students receive a free uniform. Dates: Mondays/Wednesdays, August 6 through 29. 6-6:30pm. Register before July 23 and save, just $69 for the session ($76 if registering after 7/23).

Intro to Martial Arts II for five and six year olds features age appropriate agility skills and games that teach respect, concentration and self esteem. This class prepares the student for enrollment in martial arts with belt advancement. First time students receive a free uniform. This class is held on Mondays and Wednesdays, August 6 through 29. 6-6:30pm. Register before July 23 and save, just $69 for the session ($76 if registering after 7/23).

Seven to nine year olds can enroll in Beginning Tae Kwon Do where Master Pruter, Olympic training site coach and instructor of coaches though out the USA, teaches the most progressive style of Taekwondo. Students will take the first step to being prepared to participate in the annual USA-Taekwondo Junior Olympics. Life skills like leadership, goal setting, respect, courtesy, integrity, and self-control will be taught. First time students will receive a free uniform. Session will be Tuesdays & Thursdays, August 7 – 30, from 6-7pm. Beginning Tae Kwon Do for ages 10-17 will be held at the same time and dates. Registration fees are $89 if registered by July 23 and $98 after July 23.

All classes are held at Pruter's TKD, 818 SW Blue Parkway. Registrations will be open until July 20. To sign up visit lsparks.net or call 816-969-1500.
