Lee’s Summit Medical Center Welcomes David Rios, MD, FACC

March 9, 2013

Lee’s Summit Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health System—Kansas City’s largest healthcare network and private-sector employer—announces five physicians joining its staff. Heath Parker, DO; Adam J. Henson, DO; Kristi Trimm, DO; David Rios, MD, FACC; and Aruna Rokkam, MD, offer a diverse range of medical expertise for people living and working in Lee’s Summit and surrounding communities.

Drs. Trimm, Rios and Rokkam are part of Midwest Physicians, which is part of HCA Midwest Health System.  Midwest Physicians is a network of experienced, multi-specialty physicians located throughout the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

“Drs. Trimm, Rios and Rokkam represent the vital partnership the physicians of Midwest Physicians have with their hospital-based colleagues to provide seamless care to patients,” says Loren Meyer, MD, Midwest Physicians president.

Dr. Rios is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine and practices at Midwest Heart and Vascular Specialists, part of Midwest Physicians. Dr. Rios received his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, Calif., and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass.  He also completed a fellowship at University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Rios has received honors from the Robert Wood Johnson Minority fellowship, the American Heart Association and the American Federation for Clinical Research.

Jackie DeSouza, president and chief executive officer of Lee’s Summit Medical Center, says these five physicians represent the talented and committed healthcare professionals that comprise the hospital’s team of more than 300 physicians and Midwest Physicians practices. “Drs. Parker, Henson, Trimm, Rios and Rokkam are committed to compassionate patient care with the best possible outcomes and support for patients during their treatment,” says DeSouza.  “People living in our area have access to progressive and innovative programs and physicians for their healthcare needs.”
