Meet local artist Jim Ware on Thursday, July 21
July 11, 2016
Meet local artist Jim Ware on Thursday, July 21, from 5:30 - 7 p.m., in the lobby of City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit. Enjoy some of his artwork on display in City Hall along with light hors d’oeuvres and complimentary wine sampling.
Ware, a local Lee’s Summit artist, has been fine tuning his art style for the last 10 years. He is active in the art community. He has appeared on multiple local television programs, participated in many juried art shows in the greater Kansas City area including a one-man show last year. His paintings have also appeared on local magazine covers. He gives back to his community by contributing his talents, pro bono, to charity auctions. Ware also gives art classes at the Got Art Gallery on Third in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Ware explains “Dissociative Impressionism” is a combination of expressionism and impressionism. It entails brilliant colors and expressive brush strokes that fill the painting with energy. I want the viewer to ‘feel’ my paintings, not just see them.” “My style doesn’t tell the entire story for the viewer. Many details are left out of my paintings. This is intentional. The viewers, in a sense, complete the painting for themselves making it ‘’their painting”, said Ware.
His artwork will be on display at City Hall during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, until mid-October 2016. For more information about his artwork, visit www.jimwareworks.com
