Summit Christian Academy Student Texas Bound Again

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) students competed on January 23rd against 14 area schools in the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) 3rd – 8th Grade District Spelling Bee. Capturing second place out of 97 spellers was SCA sixth grader Matthew Mitchell.
Mitchell will travel to Dallas, Texas to compete in the March 9 ACSI Regional Spelling Bee against students from seven other states. This is Mitchell’s second trip to the Regional Spelling Bee in Dallas, as he took 4th place at the District competition last year.
The following seven SCA students placed in their grade level competitions and advanced to the finals round at the District Spelling Bee hosted by Harrisonville Christian School:
8th grade – Annalise Park 2nd place 7th grade – Jacob Dixson 2nd place & Russell Cook 4th place 6th grade – Matthew Mitchell 3rd place & Paige Thompson 4th place 3rd grade – Jacob Martinez 1st place & Kyler Simmons 2nd place
Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is an independent, nondenominational Christian school serving over 685 preschool through high school students. SCA ministers to all students with programs for gifted students as well as students who need resource services. Established in 1989, SCA is located on a 36-acre campus and holds dual accreditation through North Central Association and Association of Christian Schools International.
