Conrad Vaca is in custody in Kansas and has waived extradition. Detectives should have him back in Lee's Summit sometime this week.

From April 1 through April 16, 2009 the police department experienced an increase of residential burglaries and theft from auto cases in primarily the southwest portion of the city. The crime spree appeared to be all crimes of opportunity, in that the victims either had their garage doors open or their vehicles were unlocked. A total of nine reports were taken ranging from the theft of a camera, to the theft of a two motor vehicles.
The crimes occurred in the 1300 block of SW Surrey Trace, the 3000 block of SW Muir Dr., the 2400 block of SW Eleventh St., the 1000 block of SW Eleventh Court, the 4000 block of SW Clipper Ln., the 1200 block of SW Persels Rd., the 2900 block of SW Lewis Circle, the 600 block of NW Ward Rd., and the 700 block of NE Lynn Dr.
The investigation by LSPD detectives determined 22 year old Conrad L. Vaca from Lee’s Summit to be responsible. Through interviews and recovering of stolen items the detectives were able to gain a confession from the subject.
On December 2, 2009 the 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Jackson County issued an arrest warrant in the name of Conrad L. Vaca for 6 counts of 1st Degree Burglary, 5 counts of Felony Theft, 3 counts of Misdemeanor Theft, and 4 counts of Fraud related to the use of stolen credit cards during the crime spree.
