The city council meeting on Thursday night ended early with a postponement of the highly anticipated discussion of a new development at View High Drive and 470 Highway.
Steve Arbo, Lee’s Summit City Manager made the statement to a semi-stunned large group of the community on hand at the meeting awaiting the discussion.  City Councilmember Brian Whitely said Thursday night after the meeting that the next meeting on the matter will be held on February 9th.
Mr. Short will not be able to attend the February 2 meeting. Mayor Rhoads has agreed to placing the View High Corridor discussion on the February 9, 2012 City Council Work Session.

The View High Corridor will be a large project for the Lee’s Summit area to say the least.
Happy Valley Properties and its developer, Flip Sort, is making sure that details are finalized and concerns addressed before presenting further details to the council.

The city council decided unanimously to accept the plans presented by Gale Communities of Longview Farms and Brookview Properties who would be developing a 270 unit multi-family residential apartment complex within the Phase 5 section of the current Longview Farms Development.  The council decided to basically move the proposed units from one side of the development to the west of the existing calf and dairy barn.

The historic details of the Longview area and restoration of existing buildings are still at the forefront for city council members and Gale Communities.  The preservation and building new residences will continue as planned.
