Dancing In The Rain

July 28, 2012

By Wendy Hayworth

Intern Reporter for the Tribune

On the night of Wednesday, July 25, a wondrous sight was beheld. As thunder graced the skies of Lee’s Summit, many residents took to the streets in celebration. The skies opened up and for the first time, in what has seemed like centuries, rain fell upon the parched earth!

Many residents were seen dancing through the streets, enjoying every single, long awaited droplet. It seems as if Mother Nature has decided to tease us with this small percentage of rain, 47 hundredths of an inch according to the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport.

Hopefully soon, this reporter can dance and sing in the rain with a happy refrain, just singing, singing in the rain.
