Davis - Perkins Wedding

April 20, 2013

Lee’s Summit couple, Samantha Jo Davis, 24, and Chad Anthony Perkins, 27, were united in marriage April 14, 2013 at Fleming Hall in Blue Springs, Missouri. The couple were friends in their teen years at Lee’s Summit High School. Years later they began to date and soon a lasting love for each other blossomed.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Alexis Davis of Lee’s Summit. The groom is the son of Ron and Martha Bowles of Lee’s Summit.

The bride wore a sapphire blue dress and carried a bouquet of blue and orange lilies. The groom wore a matching blue shirt and the honor attendants were in orange.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by maid of honor, Cassie Lewis of Independence, Missouri. The best man was Vinson Brown of Raytown, Missouri. Adorning the aisle in flower petals was flower girl, Kenadie Skelton of Grain Valley, Missouri, niece of the bride. Jim Clark of Lees Summit officiated.

In attendance were close friends and family including the bride’s grandparents, Joan and Anthony Galate of Grain Valley, and Raymond and Nancy Elder of Kansas City, Missouri; the groom’s grandmother, Anne Bowles, of Raytown; the brides siblings, Monica Skelton (sister) of Grain Valley, Amber Saavedra (sister) of Lee’s Summit, and Corey Davis (brother) of Lee’s Summit; and the groom’s brother, Matt Bowles of Lee’s Summit.

A reception was held at the same location which included a feast of ribs, ham, and assorted side dishes. The chocolate wedding cake filled with chocolate ganache was made by Naomi Cosner of Independence. The couple danced their first dance to Josh Groban’s "When You Say You Love Me" as their adoring family watched. The dancing was closed by the bride dancing with her father to Tim McGraw’s "My Little Girl" and the groom dancing with his mother to "The Man You’ve Become".

The bride works as an ophthalmic technician and retinal photographer for Retina associates, P.A. in Overland Park, Kansas. The groom is the Detail Manager at Bobs Detail Specialist in Lee’s Summit. The couple will continue to live in Lees Summit and are looking forward to starting a family in the near future.
