Delivering The Baby

March 15, 2014

A unique birth took place on the morning of January 29th at 0248 hours. Officer B. Murray and Corporal C. Hein originally received a dispatched call for a woman in labor.

Soon, a second call was dispatched advising the baby’s head was crowning. Officers arrived quickly and gave assistance to the mother and father in the birth of the child. The child was born in the families living room.

The newborn is named Daphne and is a healthy baby girl. During the award presentation I complemented the family and officers by saying, "the chance to witness a baby’s birth not only first hand, but in a position as a helping Law Enforcement Officer in his duties is a miracle the officers will remember their entire lives.

Chief Greg Hallgrimson
