Discussions Continue Regarding Exergonix Proposal

May 31, 2011

By Melissa Bedford Fears

Discussions between the City of Lee’s Summit and Don Nissanka, President and CEO, Exergonix are continuing beyond the May 31, 2011 closing date for the subject 83-acre property owned by Pfizer. A request to extend the closing date to June 15, 2011 has been made to Pfizer.  “This has allowed more time for the City and Exergonix to create mutually agreeable conditions. Public/private agreements must be well-constructed for everyone involved. The Exergonix partnership deserves the additional time and energy to make certain there is a successful outcome for all parties,” explained Stephen Arbo, City Manager

Ultimately, the final proposed agreement will be reviewed by the full City Council in a future public meeting. Given the June 15 property closing deadline, this review will need to occur either at the June 2 or June 9 City Council meeting.

Additional information will be available when the matter has been placed on the public agenda. There is no further information at this time.
