Mayor's Christmas tree
November 12, 2011
Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street will host the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Howard Station Park at the corner of Third and S.E. Main streets. The event is sponsored by Bank of Lee’s Summit, KCP&L and The Lee’s Summit Tribune.
Mayor Randy Rhoads will light the downtown with over 100,000 sparkling lights. Free hot chocolate, musical performances, carriage rides and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus and his elves will get you in the holiday spirit! Bring your camera and snap photos with Santa, then stay awhile and visit downtown businesses, which will be open late.
“I encourage residents, friends and visitors to join me in celebrating the spirit of the holiday season by attending the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony,” said Mayor Randy Rhoads. “This is a joyous event for our City filled with holiday lights, shopping and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.”
Visitors are encouraged to park in the parking garage located at the corner of Second and Green streets by City Hall or to find on-street parking.
