Show Us Your Produce Campaign Encourages Customers to Shop Local

A new cross-promotion between the Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market and downtown Lee’s Summit businesses encourages customers to support their local farmers and growers, and then head downtown to shop at local businesses.
With any purchase at the Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market, customers will receive a “Show Us Your Produce” coupon to present at participating downtown Lee’s Summit businesses for $5 off a purchase of $20 or more. Coupons are only good on market days, Wednesday and Saturdays, and expire November 7, 2009. Customers may receive more than one coupon if they shop at several market vendors, but only one coupon may be used per store.
Stacy Brandt, Events & Marketing Coordinator for Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street, believes this will be a win-win situation for both the Farmers Market and downtown businesses. “We know that people come downtown just to go to the Farmers Market, and wanted to incent them to also shop downtown. On the flip-side, many of our businesses have great customers who have never been to our Farmers Market. We hope this campaign will encourage people to spend more time downtown and support both local farmers and local businesses.”
The Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market is located at the corner of 2nd & Douglas. It is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:00 am to sell-out from now until November 7, 2009. Shoppers will find fresh, locally grown produce, plants, baked goods, handmade items, and even Farm-raised Missouri beef.
