305 S.E. Douglas

Vickie Hedberg, a personal travel consultant in downtown Lee’s Summit, said the benefit of working with an agent is that 99 percent of the time, she can meet or beat online travel site deals without charging a fee.

And even though, only the most custom trips – about 1 percent, she estimates – require a service fee.
Also, with Hedberg, you can put your trip on “layaway” with a $250 down payment.

Right now, she is holding a drawing to win a free trip with the El Dorado Royale in the Rivera Maya Mexico just by entering her drawing.

Hedberg is a specialist to Tahiti, Hawaii, Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts; Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant: Princess Cruise line Commodore; a Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant; and “Disney College of Knowledge” recipient.

Hedberg is an avid traveler, traveling several times a year so that she can keep up with all of the new resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. Her favorite part of the business is helping her customers’s travel dreams come true.

Hedberg was located downtown before relocating to 305 S.E. Douglas. She loves working in downtown Lees Summit where.

“I can get out, and be able to walk to our local deli for a great lunch,” she said.

An extra treat for dog lovers would be sweet Cooper a darling Shih Tzu mix rescue happily napping under the desk and then very politely greeting guests.

Not as affected by the recession, honeymoons and weddings are still big business. To help plan the perfect honeymoon, she started “Honeymoon Hideaways,” a branch of her Travel Source business. The Honeymoon gift registry allows the couple to register for a massage on the beach or a deep sea fishing trip and the like. Friends find it much more fun to donate their share of a fun outing than say, a toaster.

Hedberg’s eyes lit up as she described her most memorable client. An 84-year-old man decided to take his adult children on an Alaskan cruise. His children felt obligated to go along on Dad’s zip line but were worried about his welfare.

“Just one year later he came back to plan his honeymoon,” Hedberg said.

Call 816-525-9859 for a free, no obligation quote on your vacation. The company can also be found www.honeymoon-hideaways.com Honeymoon Hideaways by Travel Source. Or check out their Facebook page, where a travel photo contest is beginning and will run all year. The monthly winner is awarded a nice certificate to a downtown restaurant.

Hi, Vicki! Ken and I go to WWC, too. We'd like to plan a getaway for April 22-27 to a beach. We've tried some online stuff ourselves and we're pretty frustrated at this point. Could you us?
    Thank you ~ Jennifer Harrison
