Dr. Woods opens solo practice

March 17, 2012

Dr. Malaika Woods, board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist is on the move. On March 16, Dr. Woods opened a solo practice, Lee’s Summit Center for Women’s Wellness. Personal, compassionate and innovative care are the corner stones of her new practice.

Dr. Woods has been in practice in the Lee’s Summit and Eastern Jackson County community for more than five years. During this time, she has recognized the need for a different approach to the delivery of medical care. Instead of treating patients like another item on an assembly line, Lee’s Summit Center for Women’s Wellness will focus on the individual care of each patient. Dr. Woods’ goal is to consider each woman’s entire being – physical, mental and spiritual--during the assessment and treatment of any encountered condition. She plans to use her relaxed and informative bedside manner to promote patient education and health awareness.

The Lee’s Summit Center for Women’s Wellness not only offers obstetrics and gynecologic services, but also a comprehensive weight loss program. With her public health training, Dr. Woods recognizes the importance of preventive medicine, particularly weight loss. Treatments for heavy bleeding (Novasure endometrial ablation) and permanent sterilization (Adiana) techniques will be offered in the office setting, offering a great cost savings to patients.

Dr. Woods believes the Lee’s Summit Center for Women’s Wellness will offer a unique advantage by providing a smaller, more intimate office setting, increased patient convenience and utilization of innovative, cost-effective surgical services. Dr. Woods is affiliated with St. Luke’s East and Lee’s Summit Medical Center. Her office is located at: 3600 NE Ralph Powell Rd, Suite A, Lee’s Summit, MO, 64064. She is accepting new patients, same day as well as evening and weekend appointments are available. Call the office at 816-888-5200.

I personally wanted to take the time to express to you how blessed you will be by allowing Dr. Woods to be your doctor. She is patient and very attentive to her patients. She truly has a heart for God that is expressed in her work. Dr. Woods takes the time to explain your issue in great detail so that you will leave with a good understanding of what you have been diagnosed with. You not only feel like a patient but a friend. Thank you Dr. Woods! I pray for continued success in your practice.

I couldn't be happier to hear Dr. Woods has her own practice. She has been my doctor for 4 years and has been AMAZING. Always taking her time to talk with me and explain things. And I can't even describe how blessed I felt during my pregnancy, labor and delivery. Dr. Woods went above and beyond during my unplanned C-section and in my postpartum period. When I unexpectedly had to have my gallbladder removed 7 days after my C-section, she happened to be in the ER. She came and sat with me and answered a lot of questions I had regarding my c-section. I often have thought that she is so unlike any other doctor. I recommend her to all of my friends and family.
