Eastern Jackson County $50,000 Challenge Final Pitch Night

June 26, 2013

Lead Bank, first bank-affiliated business accelerator, to give $50K to local small business

KCMO 2013 Lead Bank, the areas first bank-affiliated business accelerator, launched their “Business Accelerator Program” for Eastern Jackson County earlier this year. Over the last six months, five local companies have been working hard and growing their businesses in preparation for this final presentation. Beginning at 6:00pm on June 26th, at Longview Mansion in Lee’s Summit, the chosen finalists will have one last opportunity to present their businesses in front of a panel of experts and the public to compete for the $50,000 prize.

The Eastern Jackson County Business Accelerator Program supports the growth of businesses and is happy to announce the following five finalists; The Berry Nutty Farm, BBQ Addicts, Community Buying Group, Shear Madness Haircuts for Kids, and vProviders.

One of these companies will be chosen for the six-month business program, awarded a $50,000 cash prize and will be offered a suite of business-related services valued at more than $10,000.  After six months, participants will present their companies to an executive panel of business experts and executives who will offer each business professional guidance and knowledge. Throughout the program, challenger companies will be introduced to Kansas City’s Angel and professional investment community.

Josh Rowland, Vice Chairman of Lead Bank and CEO of Lead Ventures, stated, “Lead bank is proud to be a part of the Eastern Jackson County business community. We're excited about the prospects for growth and business development in this community.  The Eastern Jackson County challenge business incubation contest and $50,000 grand prize are just our efforts to show our appreciation for what's happening out here, and to stoke the engines for further growth”.

The Final Pitch Night will take place at Longview Mansion, 1200 SW Longview Park Drive, Lee's Summit, MO 64081. Cocktail hour from 5:00-6:00pm, presentations from 6:00-7:00pm and $50K Winner Announcement at 7:30pm.

Lead Ventures is Kansas City’s first bank-affiliated business accelerator, providing investments and advice to small and start-up businesses. With nearly a $1 million in capital committed to local business in 2011, Lead Ventures has demonstrated strong support for what not only Eastern Jackson County businesses need, but those in surrounding communities as well. Lead Ventures is a proud supporter of all small businesses and the never-ending entrepreneur spirit that is alive and well.
