Emergency Crews Respond to Plane Crash in Lee's Summit

Emergency Crews Respond to Plane Crash in Lee's Summit

April 6, 2014

Leeís Summit, MO Ė  On Sunday,  April 6th at 5:45 p.m. emergency crews responded to the 1500 block of NE Blackwell road on the report of a plane crash.

Upon arrival crews located a Cessna 210, single engine airplane that had come to rest in a field at the eastern edge of Legacy Park.  Rescue crews removed the two men from the plane and transported them to local hospitals.

The pilot was listed as minor injuries and the passenger was listed as serious injuries. Investigators with the FAA will be on scene in the morning to begin their investigation into the cause of the accident. The planes departure point and destination are not known at this time, the names of the pilot and passenger are not being released at this time.
