Evan Martin Signs With U.S. Naval Academy

On Tuesday afternoon the graduating men of the Lee’s Summit West Titan Football Team, signed their commitment intentions for college. Lee’s Summit West High School is noted as the 2014 State of Missouri 5A Conference Champions. West ranks #22 on the Tour of Champions nationally.

Among the signers was Captain, Evan A. Martin, #56, who was actively pursued by all three military academies and several Colleges and Universities. Martin will sign his commitment to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Martin distinguishes himself by graduating with a 3.9+ over all GPA on a 4.0 scale. Along with playing football and other sports, since middle school, being an active member of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church headed by Rev Emmanuel Cleaver, III, he has been actively involved in honors choirs throughout his school career. He is the bass in the coveted, Una Voce, a traveling a cappella choir, and a member of the Honors Choir at West.

Martin is the son of Van and Catherine A Wiley, and grandson of Erlene E C Flowers, regional artist, all of Lee’s Summit
