Extravaganza To Benefit Katie May’s Miracle Foundation
September 29, 2012
Katie May
The community is invited to attend an Extravaganza hosted by Katie May’s Miracle Foundation (KMMF) at 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Elk’s Lodge in Blue Springs. The event is a fundraiser for KMMF, a newly established foundation that benefits individuals who suffer from Von Hippel-Lindau disease and autism.
The Foundation is named after Katie May, daughter of Debbie and Stu May of Lee’s Summit. Katie, who is 24 years old, attended Highland Park Elementary before attending and later graduating from Lakeview Woods State School within Lee’s Summit R-7.
Katie, who is autistic, was diagnosed with a brain tumor last summer and underwent neurosurgery.
Following the surgery, she was diagnosed with Von Hippel-Lindau disease. Katie’s parents are establishing the 501c3 foundation to assist individuals, caregivers and families who have similar situations. All proceeds from the event will go to establish the foundation.
Cost for the Extravaganza is $50 per person and includes dinner, entertainment, silent and live auctions.
For more information or to purchase tickets, contact info@katiemaysmiraclefoundation.org or (816) 694-0510.
