Filing for municipal election began at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17. It will close at 5:00 p.m. on January 21.

City Hall will be closed December 24, December 25, and January 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Years Day holidays. The election is scheduled for April 8, 2014.

The positions that are open for election are for one councilmember from each of Lee’s Summit’s four districts, the mayor, and one of the city’s two municipal judges. District 1: Councilmembers Kathy Hofmann and District 3: Ed Cockrell will reach their term limit on the city council in 2014.
