Gospel Singers Bring Christmas Home To Kansas City
December 8, 2012
Gospel music recording artists The Phil & Pam Morgan Family make their home in Lee’s Summit, but much of the time you’ll find them on the road, sharing their music in concerts across the country.
As the holidays approach, the husband and wife team, along with their talented daughter, Kayla, are looking forward to much needed time off - but not before some very special Christmas events.
Again this year, the Morgans have designed a special holiday program. The concert, called “A Homestyle Family Christmas,” features songs and stories of the season, along with special guests and comic mischief provided by the Morgan’s youngest daughter, Alisha.
The two-hour holiday presentation reflects nostalgic TV variety shows; the stage is transformed into a giant living room where the audience is invited to spend Christmas with the Morgans. Special guests arrive as carolers or friends who “drop by for a visit” to share a song and story.
“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” says Pam. “We reminisce about favorite Christmases gone by with stories and songs and lots of tight family harmony. The crowd always loves when Phil showcases his incredible piano talent and the sweet moments when Kayla plays the violin. And then there’s Alisha. We never know what she’ll come up with - but no doubt it will have us laughing!”
The public has three opportunities to join the festivities in the Kansas City area.
The first is Friday, December 7 at 7:00pm at First Baptist Church on 2nd and Douglas in downtown Lee’s Summit. Guests include Lee Summit North High School Crimson Camarata and the First Baptist Youth choir.
Next, a special 3:00pm matinee presentation will be Sunday, December 9 at Blue Ridge Blvd Christian Church, 3625 Blue Ridge Blvd in Independence.
The series will wrap up at 6:30pm on Saturday, December 15 at Susquehanna Baptist Church, 17800 E. Susquehanna Ridge, Independence, MO. Guests at both Independence concerts include multi-instrumentalists Matt Magerkurth and David Schmitt.
Admission is free for the family-friendly concerts, and a love offering will be received to support the Morgan’s ministry efforts in 2013. Doors open 30 minutes before each concert and seating is limited.
For more information, call the Morgans at 816-578-4197, or visit www.PhilandPamMorgan.com/Concerts/.
