I-70 Lane Restrictions at Night Begin in April in the Benton Curve

March 29, 2011

By Steve Porter, MoDOT

Nighttime Bridge rehabilitation will restrict westbound I-70 traffic to one lane at times next month.

Westbound I-70 between Van Brunt Boulevard and Woodland Avenue will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, to 5 a.m. Thursday, April 7, from Thursday night into Friday morning, April 8, and Friday night into Saturday morning, April 9. The same nighttime schedule will also apply to the same area and hours beginning the nights of Monday, April 11, through Thursday morning, April 14.

In addition, eastbound I-70 will be restricted to two lanes from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 6 and 7, in the same area between Van Brunt and Woodland. Workers are rehabilitating the decks of five bridges on westbound I-70. Similar restrictions are expected to continue into the summer as repairs progress from one lane to the next adjacent lane.
