Jackson County Declares a State of Emergency
February 21, 2013
Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders has declared a state of emergency due to the winter storm.
This declaration allows the county and its municipalities access to resources to help with costs associated with the storm.
The county is urging citizens to stay in their homes and off of the roads. As snowfall amounts continue to increase, conditions will worsen and dangers, such as falling trees could become an issue.
The Independence/Eastern Jackson County Emergency Operations Center is fully activated and will remain active until all threats from the weather event have passed.
