The Jackson County Genealogical Society’s February 2nd meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Midwest Genealogy Center, located at 3440 South Lee’s Summit Road, in Independence Missouri.
Our guest speaker for the general meeting is Laura Moore, Program Manager for the Girl Scouts of America. One of their main focuses is working with community partners to offer programs for Girl Scouts. They are currently working with the St. Joseph Genealogical Society to develop a program for girls around a few different program options including the My Family Story Badge. Laura will be presenting to our group a program for girls in the KC metro and would be showing us a few places where genealogy would fit with the existing program materials.
The Election for the Nominating Committee will take place after our guest speaker.
