Jackson County, MO Sheriff’s Office Attends 3rd Annual Public Safety Day.
July 8, 2011
Sgt. Ronda Montgomery
On Saturday, July 9th from 11-3 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the 3rd Annual Public Safety Day! The event, held on the southeast lawn of the National WWI Museum, is at Liberty Memorial located at 100 W. 26th Street in Kansas City, MO and open to everyone.
This free event is designed to educate and inform the community, especially our youth, about the public safety resources available to them.
The Sheriff’s Office will join with other local law enforcement, security, fire and medical personnel in a family friendly environment.
Fun activities for kids 12 and under include inflatable obstacle courses, free child identity kits, free ice cream (while supplies last), free safety literature, coloring books, and more! They will be able to meet fire and police personnel as well as get to see their vehicles, K-9s, and equipment. In addition, they will be able to learn the differences between each agency and how they all play an important role in keeping our community safe.
Admission to the Public Safety Day is FREE, and we encourage everyone to come out and learn about your area safety agencies, what services they can provide, as well as how you can help your community!
