Jackson County Sheriff Mike Sharp Encourages Motorists to Buckle Up and Arrive Alive

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Sharp Encourages Motorists to Buckle Up and Arrive Alive.
The Jackson County Sheriffs Office participated in the statewide “Click It or Ticket” mobilization conducted on February 25th. During the 24 hour enforcement effort, officers issued a total of 152 traffic citations including: 31 safety belt tickets; 17 speeding tickets; 1 driving while intoxicated; 13 driving while revoked tickets; 13 no insurance tickets; 4 felony arrests, and (1) narcotics arrest for possession of cocaine and 77 other traffic tickets were made as a result of the crackdown.
“Safety belts are your single best defense in a crash,” stated Sheriff Mike Sharp. “Law enforcement will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to buckle up and Arrive Alive.
