Jay Mejia joins the Lee's Summit Tribune Staff

Linda Ahern, Owner/Publisher of the Lee's Summit Tribune is proud to announce, Jay Mejia, a native of St. Joseph, MO, has joined the staff of the Lee’s Summit Tribune working in both the editorial and advertising departments.

He recently moved to Lee’s Summit after spending 13 years as a marketing communications professional and writer for high technology start-ups in Silicon Valley in San Jose, CA.

Jay holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri Graduate School of Journalism. He successfully completed MU’s Washington, D.C., program covering the White House, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

He started his career as a copy boy at The New York Times and worked as a correspondent for the Des Moines Register, the Ames, Iowa Tribune, the Texarkana, Texas Gazette, the Springfield, MO News-Leader and the St. Joseph News Press. He has also worked in advertising in various executive roles at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York and Valentine-Radford in Kansas City.

Jay understands what makes a good news story and is adept at helping companies achieve successful branding, messaging and corporate positioning.
