Customers Invited To New Store For Inspiration, Design Advice And Giveaways

Specialty home décor retailer Kirkland’s will celebrate the grand opening of its new store at SummitWoods Crossing in Lee’s Summit on Saturday, Oct. 27, and Sunday, Oct. 28.

Local interior designers Janet and Kristi Harsha will showcase Kirkland’s items and provide design tips for customers from 1 to 4 p.m. both days.

Customers are encouraged to bring photos of rooms or floor plans of spaces they are decorating for a free, personalized design consultation.

Kirkland’s will also be giving away two $50 gift cards in celebration of the grand opening, and shoppers will receive a free sachet with purchase while supplies last. Customers need only show up to the store and register to be entered in the drawing. The gift card winner will be randomly selected on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. The winner does not need to be present to win, and no purchase is necessary.

“We are eager to share our merchandise with Lee’s Summit, and we are looking forward to becoming a part of the community,” said Michelle Graul, senior vice president of stores/human resources for Kirkland’s.

The new Lee’s Summit location will employ 15 to 18 people and is one of 304 Kirkland’s stores throughout the nation and its seventh location in Missouri.

The stores offer an extensive selection of decorative items, gifts and seasonal merchandise.

The grand-opening celebration will last from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28.

All are welcome to attend. The free design consultations will occur from 1 to 4 p.m. both days.

The Kirkland’s Summit Woods Crossing store is located at 1660 NW Chipman Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081.

About Janet Harsha

Janet Harsha, owner of Finishing Touches KC, LLC, has had a passion for interior design for much of her life. Having bought and sold more than 11 homes over 40 years due to frequent transfers through her husband’s career, she has had many “opportunities” to move into a house and make it “home” very quickly before another move. Her business is built on integrity and honesty, along with design talent that she’s eager to share with clients.

About Kristi Harsha

Kristi Harsha has worked with her mother-in-law, Janet Harsha, at Finishing Touches KC for more than four years. She has a diverse background in education and ministry, as well as sales and marketing. Her interest and passion for staging and redesign began many years ago when she bought her first home and had to learn how to decorate it on a small budget. It was during this first house project that her creative skills came to life. She now enjoys combining her love of working with people along with her passion for decorating in helping others put the “Finishing Touches” on their own homes.
