The phenomenal growth of women-owned businesses has been making headlines for years; however, with all that has been accomplished, there is untapped and unrealized potential for women-owned businesses to grow even further. Lead Bank is proud to announce their newest venture, the Women In Business Initiative. This initiative will provide business expertise and financial services to local, women-owned and women-run businesses.
Lead Banks’ Women In Business Initiative will provide valuable resources to women business owners and their staff, to include start-ups, established businesses and entrepreneurs, which will enhance their personal and professional brand as well as promote overall business growth. This initiative includes extensive financial advice and business consulting services provided by the advisors at Lead Bank and the Lead Business Advisors. Access to capital is a major barrier with small businesses, therefore competitive financing options and access to capital is now available due to our relationships with the Women’s Business Center and the Justine Peterson Organization. Lead Bank is now a competitive with large-scale banks granting access to the best resources possible to clients.
Statistics show 8.3 million firms are owned by women and employ more than 7.7 million people yearly. Three quarters of all women-owned businesses are majority owned by women, 51%. The number of women-owned firms in the U.S. grew 59 percent between 1997 and 2013, one-and-a-half times the national average, according to a 2013 American Express report on the State of Women-Owned Businesses.
"Our goal is to provide the right business resources and provide the best support for women in our community. We want to find any way possible to help them reach their full potential. I often speak to women business owners about resources available; most don’t know which source best fits their particular needs and where to start. That’s where Lead Bank comes in," says Cara Coy, Lead Business Advisors.
