Lee's Summit City's Crews Will Pre-treat Streets Early on Saturday, Jan. 5

January 4, 2012

In preparation for the snowfall forecast for Saturday, Jan. 5, the City of Lee’s Summit’s snow removal crews will pre-treat primary streets at 3 a.m. in the morning and slick spots as necessary during the day. With light snowfall forecast, the snow removal operation is expected to consist of rock salt treatment only.

Although snowfall accumulations are expected to be light, City streets and pavements may become slick Saturday morning. The temperature and pavement are expected to be above freezing by mid-morning which should help melt snow.

The City’s crews will continue to monitor the weather and adjust snow removal operations as needed.

You may call the Snow Desk at (816) 969-1870. Normal business hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. During winter storm events, the Snow Desk operates 24 hours a day.
For more information about the City’s snow removal program, visit www.lspw.net or stay-up-to-date on Nixle, Facebook and Twitter.
