September 3, 2013
Lee’s Summit Police are still at the scene of a crash involving a 17 year old male cyclist.
The cyclist was struck by a vehicle driven by a female while riding in the westbound lanes of Colbern Road just east of Douglas at 7:15 p.m. The 17 year old male was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, he was not wearing a helmet.
“Police are investigating whether the sunshine glare was a factor in the crash,” stated Sgt. Chris Depue of the LSPD.
