Lee’s Summit Father Shoots 20-Year-old Son at Home

A family quarrel turned violent early Friday morning at a Lee’s Summit home.

Police responded to a call about 2 a.m. after a father allegedly shot his son during an argument at a residence in the 1700 block of NE Ridgeview Drive. They found the20-year-old victim in the home with a single gunshot wound.

The victim was transported by an ambulance to an area hospital. The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was taken into police custody.

Authorities released a statement Friday morning that the investigation into the incident is being continued with more details to come.
