The Lee’s Summit Firefighter’s Association, Local 2195 will continue a 34th year tradition of collecting donations for the Lee’s Summit Social Services at a “Boot Block” on December 19, 20 and 21, 2013.

Off-duty Lee’s Summit firefighters will be at the intersection of 3rd St and Douglas in downtown Lee’s Summit from approximately 9 a.m. to dusk to accept donations Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

100% of the donations received will be given to Lee’s Summit Social Services Needy Family Fund. The Needy Family Collection is used by LSSS to purchase school supplies and clothes for Lee's Summit residents in need.

Earlier this year, IAFF Local 2195 President Dan Manley delivered a $18,000 check from last year's donations to Geneva High, the Executive Director at LS Social Services.

Bring the kids as Santa has been seen in years past collecting for the Boot Block. Drive around the block and make a donation in each boot. Let's fill those boots up. Checks should be made out to The Lee’s Summit Firefighter’s Association, Local 2195 and in the memo line add, Boot Block.
